The study on instructional design began in the mid-1960's. The foreign and Chinese experts have extensively illustrated and studied the principles and approaches of the instructional design, which includes the conception, the theoretical basis, the target, the tactic the evaluation, etc. The instructional design is different from traditional lesson preparation. China's basic orientation is towards quality education which has been put into practice for over 10 years. Nowadays .there is still a long way to go for China's junior maths education to realize quality education. However, there are a lot of causes of the above problem. The key reason lies in the poor ability and low level on instructional design of the maths teachers. The study bases on the modern theory of the instructional design as well as characteristics of moths lessons of grade two in junior middle school, students' psychological cognition and understanding, and learning. After the researches of theory and practice, a plan of instructional design is illustrated in the study as the following mode:Target Illustration-, task Analysis-. Learning Design-, Situation Design-. Content Design-. Evaluation Design-, Movement Maintenance. The conclusions have been arrived:(1)we should carry out the modern instructional design in order to improve the maths score of the grade -two students in junior middle school, including their average score, passing rate and excellence rate.(2)The practice of the modern instructional design may add interest to students' maths learning and avoid polarization.(3)The habits of self-independent study and cooperation will be improved by the practice of the modern instructional design.
