Offering IT course as required one in elementary schools, accelerating the integration of IT and the other courses, the two make up the chief goal of current IT education (ITE) set by the ministry of education, and also are the two indivisible parts of ITE. According to the national agenda of offering IT course in elementary schools, now more and more schools are offering the course. Under this background, the current research of ITE, esp. of the IT course classroom instruction, can hardly satisfy the practical need. The present research of the instructional model, have summarized the known research fruits, practical experiences and the unsolved problems in practical classroom instruction, used such educational research methods as the action research method, literature investigation, field interview, etc. At large, the research have systematically explored the classroom instruction of IT course in elementary schools.Part one elaborates the research background, present condition, significance, and methodology, points out the four major significances of the present research as follows: furthering the ITE research, make up for the lack of IT course classroom instructional research; summarizing known fruits of this part of ITE, strengthening the classroom instructional research of IT course; summarizing known practical experiences of classroom instruction, provide classroom instructional reform with references; make the IT course better realize the curriculum objectives, better foster the information literacy of the pupils.Part two introduces and explores the definition of teaching model, provides and elaborates the definition and characteristics of the classroom instructional model of IT course in elementary schools, outlines the theoretical frame, practical foundation of constructing the IT course teaching model of Chinese elementary schools.Part three clearly defines literacy-oriented education and information literacy education, subjectivity instruction and constructivism teaching theories as the theoretical basis of constructing the four-step classroom instructional model of IT course in elementary schools, further points out the literacy and subjectivity are the two indivisible parts of human development, introduces and analyses the two major problems existing in the current teaching models of IT course: unsuccessful task-oriented instruction, and the difficult control of the differentiation among students. In order to resolve the problems, the four-step classroom teaching model set the following three teaching objectives: general development, everyone development, and characteristic development. Also, the four steps, "situated task, teaching and exercising, activity groups, works evaluation", the actual instructional process and concrete implementation principles are systematically elaborated.Part four explores the application of the four-step teaching model in the actual classroom instructional practice in selected elementary schools, through the mutual talk and cooperation in real instructional environment, summing up the still existing issues and give further suggestions and principles for later classroom teaching reform in IT course.Part five provide a general view of the positive fruits and existing problems of the present research.
