Plain geometry takes a great proportion in the mathematics course in junior middle school. But at present, the effect of teaching in it is not so good (as it should be). It can be seen in both the description of experts and our survey that a majority of students lose interest in mathematics just because they can't do well in Plain geometry. It is a big headache to them, and to us, a troublesome problem. As a result, it is of great practical significance to discuss issues on the reform of this course while "popular mathematics" is widely proposed all over the world.Based on the analysis of the causes which lead to this discouraging present condition, this paper intends to introduce one of the most effective solutions that problem: test lesson of Plain geometry.At the beginning , the definition of test lesson of Plain geometry is offered, and then, its history and its present condition are both introduced . In the major part, two types of test lesson which can better suit present condition of the teaching of plain geometry in our country, as well as the corresponding representative examples ,are offered .These two types can be put in simple words as "learn from doing" and "learn under the help of CAI" . By means of surrey and s tat ist ics, this paper summarizes the result of practice for a period of three semesters. And we can easily draw a conclusion that the students have taken much more interests in studying plain geometry in this way. What's more, their perform have become much better. To our great satisfaction, many new ideas in teaching are embodied in our class, which is, so to speak, most rewarding to all of us.
