Physical problem solving is one of the most important component parts middle school physics teaching .Training the students ability of analyzing and soling physical problems is one of the targets of middle school physics teachings .One of the obvious problems exsisting in middle school physics teaching is that many students have difficulty in solving physical problems with their physic knowledge.Many teachers make their students buried into lots of exercises and try to overcome the difficulty .Therefore,doing exercises become the main task for physics learners .Whether the hard questions can be answered becomes assessment of students ability .It takes lots of energy and time without improving the students analysing and solving problems ability .As a matter of fact ,it leads to serious problem . To solve the problem,we must be practical and analysing carefully the reasons which barrier the improvement of the students ability ,according to the Reform Direction for the middle school subjects ,let us come up with the helpful teaching methods on the base of theories of psychology and metacognition .This article therefore appears with the expectation of being help to physics teaching for middle schools .It is divided into seven parts .Part I IntroductionThe article mainly discusses the necessity and the importance of studying this subject according to the present situation of middle school physics teaching ,especially with the reform tence of middle school education .Part II Types of problems in middle school physics and solvements .This artcle defines the physical problem solving and summaries the types of problems in middle school physics and procedure of solvements .Part III Analyzing the factors which effects the students physical problem solving.The article analyzes deeply the factors which effect the student physical problemsolving from two aspects梥tudents and teaching methods.lt states that thinking problems and individual factors are superficial reasons.That is because many negtive factors are formed in the improper teaching environment.Part IV Metacognition and its usage on physical problem solving .The article states briefly the defmation and structure of metaconition ,and analyzes its usage on physical problem solving according to the studies and practice of the theory of metacognition abroad or home .Part V Teaching methods to improve the students ability of physical problem solving.The article comes up with the methods which can help to improve the students ability of physical problem solving on the base of psychology and metacognition . ?Training the students thinking ability .(2) Helping the students learn to think.(3) Training the students ability of metacognition . @ Improving teaching methods .?Carrying out "study and learn" in physical teaching for middle school. ?Proper assessment.Part VI Experiment of Teaching Reform to improve the middle school students ability of physical problem solving .The methods mentioned in the article have been practised and proved to be good .It can be concluded that as long as teachers try to train the students ability of metacognition , improve their teaching methods , often study and learn and stimulate the motivation of the students ,The students ability of physical problem solving will be improved .Part VII Review and self-questioning .The study in the article is still limited.lt still needs further studying from different aspects and views ,eg .relationship between physics metacognition and the way of thinking relationship between physics metacognition and Training the Students creative ability.
