As an important field of curriculum studies, research on curriculum implementation could be traced back to the process of understanding and evaluating curriculum changes in 1970s. The core of curriculum implementation research is to study the practice of new curriculum program. In the September of 2001, the New Curriculum Reform of Basic Education entered into the stage of implementation. We must investigate the implementation of the New Curriculum in order to discover problems and summarize experiences in time. Based on the analysis of previous researches on curriculum implementation, this dissertation employs the approach of case study, systematically analyzes the degree to which the New Curriculum and the factors which influence implementation as planned by using of multiple methods, such as interview, observation, questionnaire and literature analysis, and advances some constructive suggestions for the further development of the New Curriculum's implementation.The dissertation consists of five parts.Part one is an introduction, which synoptically introduces the development and the basic orientations of research on curriculum implementation, discusses the significance and research plan of the issue, and does some defensive explanation for this research.Part two is an analysis of teachers' receptivity to the New Curriculum of Basic education. Through the questionnaire survey on teachers in School A and School B, the dissertation finds that teachers' receptivity to the New Curriculum is rather high, and the elementary school teachers' receptivity is higher than that of teachers in secondary school; most of the teachers devote themselves into the New Curriculum Reform; thepracticality of the New Curriculum should be enhanced more.Part three is an analysis of the teachers' role and behavior. Based on the Concerns Based Adoption Model (CBAM), the dissertation assesses the Stage of Concern (SoC) and the Level of Use (LoU) of four teachers in School A and School B. The results indicate the New Curriculum has been implemented in some degree in the two schools; examination and the relative education reforms that the two schools have participated in are important factors which influence the implementation of the New Curriculum.Part four is an analysis of the influencing factors of the implementation of Basic Education's New Curriculum. Based on the existing theoretical frame and according to what is actual happening hi the School A&B and the New Curriculum Reform, the dissertation mainly probes into several primary factors which influence the implementation of the New Curriculum, which include the characters of the New Curriculum, the implementation strategy and mode, the decision-making mechanism of the New Curriculum Reform, the school organization structure and cultures of teaching, teacher development and supporting resources. Moreover, the dissertation brings forward some constructive suggestions respectively.Part five is the epilogue, which prospects the implementation of the Basic Education's New Curriculum and the researches on that. Furthermore, it points out the direction for the future follow-up researches.
