Aptitude test is important to employee selection and vocational guidance. In recent years, the need of aptitude testing is growing rapidly, while the survey/scale we have can't meet the need of our society , yet it is very difficult to develop an aptitude test in short time. The Employee Aptitude Survey (EAS) was originally published in 1963. It was widely used for both personnel and career counseling. The 10 ability sub-tests included in the EAS have proven themselves time and time again to be practical, predictive and reliable. Evidence have shown that aptitude or general ability have validity beyond culture. In order to obtain an good aptitude test in short time, we revise the EAS into Chinese. The first thing we do is to translate and modify the original survey. In the revision, the 1st test "Verbal Comprehension" including 30 items is substituted by an 60 items test, the original 8th test "Word Fluency" uses a designated letter to writes as many words as possible, in the Chinese version it uses a designated word to write as many words or phrases as possible. The other 8 test (Numerical Ability, Visual Pursuit, Visual Speed and Accuracy, Space Visualization, Numerical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Manual Speed and Accuracy, Symbolic Reasoning) all keep their original format and content. To evaluate the efficiency of the revised EAS, we select 357 subjects who come from different career. We get the key parameter from the data, such as mean, standard deviation, difficulty, differentiate, reliability, criterion 梤elated validation, and test intercorrelations, we also use conform factor analysis (CFA)and multivariate tests (MANVOA) the underlying constructs common to the measures. The factorial content of the EAS support its construct validity. The main results are as follows:First, the revised Employee Aptitude Survey has satisfactory psychometrics characters, including good reliability and fair validitySecond, the revised Employee Aptitude Survey provide useful clue for further revision and use.
