Problems And Countermeasures In Setting Up Lifelong Education System In Current China

Lifelong education and lifelong learning are the mutual trends of both social and educational development. Many theoretical research and practice in this field have been made for the past forty years all over the world. So a lot of experience as been accumulated. In this paper, by using literature method, comparison method and induction method, the author begins from a theoretical angle, the ideology of lifelong education and the evolvement of its system setting up are analyzed, and then, with briefly depicting the connotation, characteristics and the significance of lifelong education in this paper. Based on the previous discussion and combined with the practical situation in China, the paper focuses on the existing problems that occur in setting up the lifelong education. Based on the analysis on the current situation of implementing lifelong education in China, some specific countermeasures and suggestions on its future development are put forward.The paper consists of three chapters.Chapter One: The significance, the connotation and the charact -eristics of lifelong education are discussed in this chapter. First, there is a brief theoretical review on how lifelong education came into being and its evolvement. Second, there is an expatiation on the significance, the connotation and the characteristics of lifelong education, which points out that accepting lifelong education is an inevitable choice and surviving concept for social and personal deve -lopment. It is a preliminary step for part of the future discussion in chapter two and chapter three.Chapter Two: The main problems of setting up lifelong education in current China are discussed in this chapter. It inspects the present lifelong education system based on current situation in China, andconcludes the main problems as well as some achievements.Chapter Three: In this chapter, some specific countermeasures on setting up lifelong education system are involved. Based on the analysis of various elements that influence the establishment of the system, some specific countermeasures for the main problems are advanced, and they are the primary probes for bettering present lifelong education system in China.
