Purpose: Established the suitable exercise intensity for men aged 61-65 years.Method: 32 essential health men (age 62.76 + 2.69, BMI 24.06 + 3.39) were studied throughout a 8-week (3-4 times/week, 30 min/time ) aerobic exercise (walking) with deferent intensity. They were divided into three group depend on the percentage of function capacity (F.C.), i.e., the groupl: 30% - 45% EC.; the group2: 46% -60% F.C.; the group3: 61% - 75 %F.C. Some physiological and biochemical parameters were measured before and after experiment, which included cardiovascular fitness, respiratory function, body composition and blood lipids. Comparing these parameters in the three groups, find those people's suitable exercise intensity. Results: 1. It is the suitable exercise intensity for men aged 61-65 years to take 30% - 60%F.C. (2.57-4.91 METs or THR 90-118 beat/mm) as the main purposes to maintain and improve cardio respiratory fitness.2. It is the suitable exercise intensity for men aged 61-65 years to take 30%~60% F.C. as the main purposes to reduce the risks of AS and IHD.3. It is the suitable exercise intensity for men aged 61-65 years to take 46%~60%F.C. (3.77~4.91METs or THR 105-118 beat/min) as the main purposes to improve the capacity of physical activity, such as strength, agility, balance and neuromuscular concordant.4. This study support to use 30%~45%FC (2.57-3.85 METs or THR 90?05 beat/min) as a minimal effective training intensity for men aged 61-65 years.5. 30%~60%FC can be used as the suitable exercise intensity for men aged 61-65 in term of the synthetic analysis of cardiovascular fitness, respiratory function, body composition and blood lipids level.
