All sport events have undergone many innovation during its 100 years' development of Olympic Games, especially in the track and field events in which skill innovation is much more obvious, and led to the performance of increasing quickly. In field event, shot put is a complex event that spins along sorts of axis and skill evidence plays an important part in it. It has undergone many skill innovations during its 100 years developing, from former place throwing to side sliding shot putting, lasted to and back sliding throwing rotation shot putting. The subjects of all these innovations add to the length of acceleration, and increase the velocity of release. Because shot put belongs to cast event, according to trajectory principle, the mechanical formula is S=V02Sin2a/g, so S is affected by velocity of release, so the key of improving performance is to increase the velocity of release of apparatus. The velocity origins the slide stage, then it passed the transition stage to transform the velocity last spurt the release. So the transitional skill is very important during the whole throwing. How to decrease the loss rate of velocity becomes the chief thesis of studying today. So the article focuses on the transition skill and how to affect the whole technique.Research method: Studying subject is Chinese excellent male shot-putter. Research methods are mathematics statistics and videotape analytic. We put two JVC GR-DVL9800 mini camcorders on the back of circle and the left side, they are made in Japan. And to take the whole match, then analysis the data, we found our players exist the shortcoming in skill by means of comparing with abroad athletes to be directed against individual character.Result shows that our excellent shot-putters exist serious problem in the transition skill:Firstly, the angle of right foot pedal is greater during sliding phase, average to 74。. So velocity of shot and center of mass lose much at the transition skill. When the right leg left. Shot velocity average to2.81 m/s, but when the right leg attached the food the velocity is 2.67m/s. At last, it affected the release velocity.Secondly, the players totally don't control their upper body well before the last exertion .In the transition phase, the upper body opens earlier, reduces the length of shot acceleration, affect the velocity of release, and the left body opens also earlier as a result their torque turnaround abundant, all these make body control worse over the apparatus, and is bad for the last exertion.
