Under The New Situations, Capability For Mathematics And Its Cultivation

Capability for Mathematics (CM) is the main respect and major reflection in Math field. Its cultivation is of great importance to Math education. With the development, the new understanding to CM brings most math educators into a common idea that its cultivation also includes making students aware of the significance of applying math, and cultivating their abilities of math application and innovation.This article puts forward the importance of CM on chapter 2 on the basis of chapter 1 (on study of CM from the math circle at home and abroad). On the following two chapters it probes into and define the scope, features, content and structure. Chapter 5 expands the fundamental way to cultivate CM for secondary schools. In addition, the article lays stress on the significance of the cultivation of math application ability, and points out the necessity of the cultivation of math application consciousness and of strengthening application skill drill of math to fully show the method of math thinking on chapter 6. On the next chapter, it further on sets forth the significance and enlightenment of solving questions to the cultivation of CM, and on chapter 8, it points out the important way to the cultivation of math innovation ability, i.e., to cultivate it on the course of class teaching, starting with questions. The last chapter expands the significance and methods of math exchange ability.
