In the last twenty years, to meet the demand of economy, society and vocational technology, higher vocational education in our country has been developing gradually and has had further development. Especially since 2000, with the urgent need, vocational and technical college has got impetuous development, the students as a new educated community are better than the students in the secondary vocational and technical school, but not equal as university students. Though most teachers have realized it, few of them have investigated the learning motivation, especially the learning motivation for vocational college students and fewer investigation with evidence.The paper analyses the specialty of the new community and expounds the kind of the motivation theory and English learning motivation. Besides, it investigates and analyses the English learning motivation of vocational college students. Then, according to the conclusion, it puts forward practicable measures and ways. At last, it sums up this investigation and analysis and poses suggestions to further discussion.There are five chapters in this paper.Chapter One. Introduction. First, review the research about the learning motivation. Second, the development of vocational and technical college. Third, new education views about vocational and technical college .Chapter Two. Motivation theories and English learning motivation. It summaries the research by forefathers on motivation and further proves its importance and necessity based on the influence of linguistics, psychology and pedagogy, etc. Besides, it also expounds a few of conceptions on motivation and classifications of learning motivation to help us understand its concepts.Chapter Three. Investigation and analysis of English learning motivation. It investigates and analyses English learning motivation for vocational college students.Chapter Four. Measures and ways to train and stimulate college students' motivation. For example, make a plan of long-time learning motivation and short-time learning motivation; provide learning attraction and summary the reason of learning.Chapter Five. Conclusion. Discuss the result of investigation and draw a conclusion and put forward some suggestions for further studying.
