Nowadays English teaching in secondary vocational school is not optimistic,the reason forthat is the students’ weak foundation in English learning, lower learning interests, lack ofself-confidence and enthusiasm, obsolete teaching methods and evaluation methods.Researchers believe that changing the present situation of English learning in secondaryvocational school, we should stimulate the secondary vocational students’ motivation oflearning English in the teaching activities,thus internalized as the students themselves arewilling to learn English and students are interested in learning English.English teaching itself is not only a cognitive process of learning,but also is a process ofemotional response. What about the results of English teaching? In addition to the teachers’teaching skills, learning environment and the effects of learners’ language ability themselves, itis also influenced by students’ emotional factors in English study. But within the students’emotional factors in English study, learning motivation is the key point to English learning result.As the students are the mian role in learning, in the secondary vocational school,teacher’s task ofEnglish teaching is not only to teach the students the knowledge of English, the most importantis to make the students be willing to learn. If the students are willing to learn, they can achievegood grades. Thus learning motivation plays a key role in secondary vocational English learning.This research mainly adopts the questionnaire survey which was handed out by the author.Selecting the students in Guangdong Economic and Trade vocational school as the researchobject, issue them the questionnaires. Investigating on the student’s present situation, which isthe situation of English learning, classroom teaching and students’ English learning, after that,explore the factors that influence the effect of students’English learning in secondary vocationalschools. Finally, according to the survey results, combining with the practical teaching insecondary vocational schools, the reacher puts forward to the the teaching reform strategies ofstimulating the students’ English learning motivation: Firstly, English teaching content projectthe practical teaching philosophy. Secondly, change the traditional teaching mode in order toimprove students’ interest in learning English; Thirdly, rich extracurricular activities in first andsecond class correlation; Finally, maintain and protect students’ motivation of learning English inthe teaching evaluation. Combining with the practice of English teaching in secondary vocational school, theauthor thinks that in order to improve the students English learning achievement, the teachersshould arouse the students’ psychological mechanism of learning English in the teachingactivities and cultivate the students’ English learning motivation.
