The change of learning styles is the keystone in the curriculum reform of basic education. There are two kinds of learning styles: one deals with the technology of the strategy, and the other covers the spirituality of the motivated emotions. Concentrating on the change of learning styles from tradition to modem, this thesis discusses the disciplinary reasons for learning styles's modernization of sociology, psychology, and pedagogics, summing up the inevitability and feasibility of the change of learning styles. It also investigates the logic process of its change from traditional oneness and passiveness to modem multiformity and go-aheadism. Likewise, it examines the connotation of modem learning styles which aims at carrying out humans' purposes. Finally, it points out the advantages and disadvantages of the either/or learning methods which abandon unilaterally traditional learning styles and the malpractice of formalism resulting from the superficial understanding of modem learning styles, and posits that we should dialectically inherit the advantages and disadvantages of the traditional learning styles and understand completely the essence of the modem learning styles so as to make the change of learning styles aim at humans' development.
