Influence Of Traditional Confucianism On The Chinese Teaching In Senior High School

The traditional Confucianism has been influencing Chinese teaching. Nowadays, it still significantly affects Chinese teaching in senior high school in every respect from contents, teaching methods to the national exam for entrance to higher education. Many articles chosen from the Analects of Confucius, the Analects of Mencius, the Analects of Master Xun and the Analects on Studies are edited in the Chinese text books for senior high school students. Many ancient Chinese articles in the text-books from other analects also clearly witness the influence of Confucianism. Students could not only get some knowledge from these aspects of education, and also enjoy it's great influence on morality and positive life attitudes. Furthermore, the teaching thoughts guided by Confucianism has been showing it's vitality, for example, the thought of Teaching students according to their different levels, the thought of Teachers and Students could benefit from each other, the eliciting teaching method and studying step by step are still widely used in teaching practice. Studying the recent 10 years national exam papers for entrance to higher education which has guided Chinese teaching activities in senior high school, we find that the design of many questions about the ancient Chinese are greatly influenced by the Confucianism. Therefore, it's necessary for us to study the influence of traditional Confucianism on Chinese teaching in senior high school. Starting with the study on the content and teaching target of the new edition of the senior high school Chinese text books, and with the help of the author's years of teaching experiences, this article is trying to discuss the significance of traditional Confucianism in cultivating people, and the effect of traditional Confucius education methodology in modern teaching activities.
