Furthermore, some scholars contributed Japanese economic flourish to Confucianism's great power in modern society. Living in the cradle of Confucianism---China, we bear the duty to study it in various aspects.Owing to the fact that Confucianism involves nearly every field in our live, the dissertation attempts to have an insight of Confucianism's impact on Chinese working staff in intercultural communication in the light of its influence on values, and tries to answer the following questions through investigation:1. Has Confucianism still heavily influenced Chinese working staff?2. Is there any difference between the staff from SOEs (state-owned enterprises) and those from FRCs (foreign-related corporations) as far as Confucianism's influence is concerned?3. If the answer to the second question is affirmative, to what extent has Confucianism affected SOEs staff and FRCs staff? In order to answer such questions, the dissertation plans to analyze culture, communication and the relationship between them at first, and then moves to investigate and explore the influence that Confucianism has taken on Chinese working staff by designing a questionnaire under the guidance of Hofstede's four value dimensions. After analyzing these responses to the questionnaire, we've drawn the following conclusions:1. Confucianism has still affected Chinese working staff.2. Confucianism's influence on SOEs staff is heavier than FRCs staff owing to the different working contexts. 3. Confucianism has affected staff more heavily SOEs staff than those from FRCs in general, but the latter agree on Confucianism more consistently than the former.According to the outcome of the survey, to enhance intercultural communication, we have the following implications: 1. Culture empathy is very important when we contact with foreigners. 2. The impact of Culture---Confucianism on people lies in the deep level.3. Corporation management system has affected people's communication behaviors directly.4. Confucianism plays an important role in cultivating corporation culture and management. In the conclusion part, the dissertation generalizes features of Confucianism's influence on Chinese staff and highlights its importance in intercultural communication. Moreover, the dissertation tells us that, facing up to the rush of western culture and the conflict between tradition and western civilization, we ourselves should learn how to absorb the excellence of the both and discard the bad of the both as well; and find out the commonness in the conflict so to make the intercultural communication successful.
