The Reform of New Basic Education Curriculum gives rise to great changes in Curriculum of Moral Education, including object, structure, contents and evaluation etc. New Curriculum of Moral Education is characteristic of being more integral, lifelike, practical but much more complicated and demanding in teaching practice. Being spokesman of truth, inculcator of moral knowledge and manager of class, teachers of traditional type must adapt their new role correspondingly to New Curriculum of Education. Collected in literature, obtained from interviews, observations and case study, with a view to relevant theories in sociology, psychology and pedagogy, the writer attempts to analyze teachers' role in Curriculum of Moral Education of Primary School.In the New Curriculum of Moral Education, teachers must change their role from moral authority to moral growers-up; from faithful executors to curriculum to developers of curriculum of moral education; from issue orders in the course of moral education to cooperators in moral activity. Meanwhile, it is found that teaches play different role in different period of Primary school according to the pupils' morality development characters. In lower grades, teachers play a leading role mainly; in middle grades, teachers must combine their leading role with pupils' decision-making role; in higher grades, teachers must be a guide and cooperator.This dissertation discusses teachers' role conflicts in the course of the implementation of Curriculum of Moral Education of Primary School, such as conflicts between different social expectations to teachers and teachers' subjective willingness; conflicts between being a manager and being students' friend; conflicts between teachers' different role play in the same period of age in primary school. Directing against new requirements of New Curriculum of Moral Education and role conflicts in the course of curriculum implementation, the writer believes to change teachers' role is the most efficient solution to the role conflicts. We can change teachers' role in two ways: one is to promote teachers' quality, the other is to change school's evaluation system to students' moral character. |
