The prevalence of HIV/AIDS has become a worldwide concern. HIV/AIDS is not only a medical issue but also a socioeconomic issue. HIV/AIDS related stigma and discrimination has increasingly gained attention of the whole nation and other relevant departments. To decrease HIV/AIDS related stigma and discrimination, the whole nation is gradually increasing input on HIV/AIDS prevention and control and carrying out HIV/AIDS care programs. In Yunnan, one of the provinces with high HIV/AIDS prevalence, Yunnan Family Planning Association and Kunming Medical College co-conducted a project on Yunnan's STDs/AIDS Health Education. This paper explores issues on HIV/AIDS related stigma and discrimination through literature review, and examine the application of Harvard's benchmark methods in analyzing the current situation of Yunnan's HIV/AIDS related stigma and discrimination by adopting ten key fields of social life demonstrated by a UNAIDS publication- "Guideline for identifying HIV/AIDS related discrimination". The results show that HIV/AIDS related stigma and discrimination exist in ten key fields of social life. Based on the results, some suggestions are given.
