Quality-oriented education has become a key problem in higher education in recent years. The most essential and most important part of quality-oriented education consists of both art literacy cultivation and scientific literacy cultivation. Although researchers have paid more attention to the improvement of science majors' art literacy, they have paid little attention to the phenomenon that Chinese art majors have bad scientific fluency. This project intends to explore the research field of ideological ethic education and improve the construction of a spiritual socialistic foundation.Guided by Marxism's education principle, applying the approaches of literature studying, structure-function researching and surveying, this paper has studied the basic theoretical and practical fields of art majors' scientific literacy and their education in a complete and concrete way. The paper is divided into four major parts as follows:Part I discusses the basic theoretical problems of scientific literacy and its cultivation methods, and draws a conclusion which forms the fundamental part of this project. That is, scientific literacy is the necessary element of art majors' literacy structure.Part II studies the necessity of scientific literacy cultivation to art majors.Part III is concerned with the current status of art majors' scientific literacy.Part IV deals with the training approaches of art majors' scientific literacy.
