The Perceptual Learning Style Preference Questionnaire is used to measure their learning styles and awareness of learning style. The examination scores of the students are used to indicate their academic achievements. The examinations are carefully made according to the English Curriculum Standards by experienced teachers. It is valid to use such exams to indicate students' achievements although they may not show their achievements on the whole. The Service Pack of Social Statistics (SPSS) is used to analyze the correlation between the variables. The SPSS analysis results show that both the awareness of learning style and the diversity of learning style are significantly correlated with students' academic achievement (p<0.05). These results indicate that the more a learner is aware of his learning style, the better he learns; the more diverse his learning style is, the better he learns. Based on these findings, recommendations for teachers are given at the end of the thesis. These recommendations are: identifying learners' learning style; extending learners' learning style and up-grading knowledge about learning style. In order to raise the learns awareness of learning style, it is essential for teachers to center on the learner when carrying out these recommendations. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | learning style, academic achievement, correlation, awareness, extend | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
