Targeting at the hosting stadiums and gymnasiums of CBA tournaments, the paper, via a method of literature, expert interview, field investigation, compare questionnaire, etc. conducts an explorative study of the operation and current situations of the stadiums and gymnasiums hosting CBA matches, in the hope of finding the defects and offering some theoretical and actual ground for the sectors involved. The paper arrives at these major findings and conclusions: (1) in terms of ownership, the Shengbei Gymnasium hosting matches of Jinsidun of Shandong province adopts the practice of acquiring ticket income according to a fixed proportion reached by the two parties; The Yongor Gymnasium of Ningbo holding Matches of the Bayi gets income in flexible proportion according to the yearly ticket sale achievements. Some other basketball clubs adopts the practice of paying rents to the gymnasiums rented; the Club of Nanjing Steel Group and that of Beijing Steel group employs their own gymnasiums without paying rents; (2) The basic facilities and layout of all the major gymnasiums cannot live up to the requirements of the development of basketball industry except the Basketball Center of Beijing Steel Group and the Huanglong Gymnasium of Hangzhou;(3) The lack of talents has become a hindrance to the operation and management of CBA stadiums and gymnasiums; (4) Only 4 gymnasiums have luxury boxes: Luwan Stadium of Shanghai, Stadium of Nanjing Steel Group, Dongguan Stadium and the Basketball Center of Beijing Steel Group; but the boxes are poorly furnished, a far cry from a real luxury box; the operation and management of Dongguan Stadium is comparatively satisfactory, but that of the other three are otherwise;(5) With regard to the management of quarterly tickets, there is great gap between the sale achievement of different clubs, the club of Nanjing Steel Group being the best and the Dongsheng Club of Shannxi Province the worst; (6) The income from stadium advertisement is also vastly different, that of the club of Nanjing Steel Groupbeing the best with 2.5 million yuan, and the Luwan Stadium of Shanghai the worst with 0.1 million yuan. Most of the clubs are unsatisfactory with the restrictions upon the court advertisement; (7) Foodstuff and drinks on the spot can not satisfy the needs of the spectators; Standardization of operation and management is needed, and sanitary situation should be improved; (8) no club has conducted spot investigation of the spectators, and the communication between the club and the spectators is virtually non-existent; (9) Inside-the stadium advertisement and outdoor advertisement should be developed further, which greatly influences the income on the part of the club and the stadium; (10) Inside-the-stadium products are in unsatisfactory sale, and it is on a small scale and less influential.
