English is more and more becoming one of the most important language tools for people to get information, to get a job, to make a living and to develop fast in the new economic times around the whole world. With our country's entering WTO, Beijing's successful applying for the right of holding The Olympic Games, our country's Western Policy, the whole country further connected with the world. For co-operation and high-speed development, language problem should be solved first. The National Education Department has decided from the year of 2001 to strengthen foreign language teaching in minority nationality regions and make English the important content in the basic education system reform. So, the minority nationality basic education system has grown into tri-language education system by the government. For the Korean students, both Chinese and English are second languages, they have not only similarities but also differences. For scientific teaching and learning, serious and exploring studying must be carried out.Yanbian Korean Minority education has always been one of the best educated minorities in China. A complete education system from kindergarten, primary school, middle school to university education has already been set up. Yanbian Korean Minority Autonomous Prefecture has once been Model Autonomous Prefecture of two-language education system in China. From the 1990s, English has been learned by the Korean primary school students. Thetri-language education system started earlier and developed faster in the Korean primary and middle schools of Yanbian Korean Minority Autonomous Prefecture. How to make the tri-language education succeed is the most important probing work for the teaching staff and the language working staff.This essay, from the point of tri-language teaching situation, is trying to state and analyze the problems existing in the tri-language education system of Yanbian Korean Primary and Middle Schools and based on the problems puts forward the improving countermeasures of the tri-language education system of Yanbian Korean Primary and Middle Schools. The essay can be divided into five parts. The first section focuses on the aim, meaning, contents and ways. The second section states the forming and developing of the Korean Tri-language education system. The third section focuses on the problems existing in the tri-language education system of Yanbian Korean Primary and Middle Schools. The fourth section puts forward the improving countcrmeasures of the tri-language education system of Yanbian Korean Primary and Middle Schools. The last section draws to a conclusion.
