Self-conscious is the reflection of individual's conscious of position in the society and environment. It is also an important signal of one's mental health. Self-consciousness seeds in infant stage and gradually matured in adolescence. During this time, the primary and middle school stage are the key time of the improvement of self-consciousness. It is important to the improvement of one's ability of social, study and behavior. With the transformation of the biomedicine model, the study on the self-consciousness become hotspot of the psychological research. The researches on self-consciousness of primary and middle school students in our country were late, present literature reports on this topic are mainly regard the Chinese nationality as the object, absence of research on minority nationality, there is no about Korean.To investigate the levels and the characteristics of self-concept in the primary and middle school students of Korean nationality in Yanbian Wangqing county, explore the influence factors on self-consciousness of the primary and middle school students of Yanbian Korean and provide scientific evidences for the good growing of the self-consciousness in the primary and middle school students in Yanbian Korean,305 students from the fifth and sixth grade of primary school and the first and second grade in the middle school, totaling 8 classes, were included in our study, all the students were interviewed with the Children's Self-concept Scale (PHCSS) and the self-made questionnaires. All the data were treated with SPSS 17.0 statistical package, Descriptive statistic analysis were used according to the type of the data, significance test used t test and variance analysis. The test data showed as meansĀ±SD, P<0.05 was considered as that had statistic meanings.The results are:1. The total level of self-concept of Yanbian Korean students in primary and middle school were much lower than that of norm children in China, there were significant difference (P<0.01), though the scores of intellect, school states and physical appearances and characteristics subscale were higher than norm children (P<0.05).2. There were no significant difference between the male and female Yanbian Korean (P>0.05).3. There were significant difference between different grades on the total scores of self-consciousness, scores of the intellect and school status, physical appearance, happiness and satisfaction subscale (P<0.01, P<0.05), there was the highest self-concept scores in the fifth grade.4. The scores of behavior, happiness and satisfaction subscale of Yanbian Korean students from nuclear family were higher than that from non-nuclear family (P<0.01, P<0.05); the total scores of self-concept, intellect and school status and behavior of Yanbian Korean students with different educational level mothers were much different (P<0.05), the scores of student with university level mothers were highest; the higher of the economic status, the higher scores of self-consciousness, intellect and school status scores, there were significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion:1. The general level self-consciousness of Korean students in the primary and middle school in Yanbian Wangqing county were lower.2. There were significant difference between different grades of the primary and middle school students of Korean on the general self-consciousness level, there was the highest self-concept scores in the fifth grade.3. Parents'education degrees, family types and family economic status were the important factors influence on the students'self-consciousness growing.
