At the beginning of the 21st century, with the implement of new-round basic educational reform. The course idea that all is developed for students is becoming reality. Scientific inquiry is one of the ways of teaching which reflect the teaching idea of new course. It has positive meanings of developing the students and the practical ability innovative consciousness. In order to improve and enrich the theories of exploratory style teaching and in order to provide a chemistry exploratory example and method for reference and adoption by the chemistry teachers and students, beginning with the concept of inquiry-based learning, the present paper expounds thought overview of the analyses main features which constitute inquiry-based teaching. And take Junior Class 4 of 2003 and Senior Class 11 of 2005 in JiuQuan Middle School as a research target, the researcher has done experiment and action research from the year 2002.The result indicates that there are clear differences between the students of experimental class and the controlled class in learning interest, original cognitive level, and academic credits aspect. Through this action research, the author summarizes some examples which can be provided to be used by the chemistry teachers and the students, and instruct the students to complete the creative essays which display in school, and explore the way:, for the students' effective assessment in the inquiry-based learning, And describe that the inquiry-based learning as a reform force can provide function value for science education of our country.
