In point of sociology, modernity refers to personality competency with the modernization of sociology. The modernity of P.E teacher of middle school means teacher's personality system that adapted to the modernization of physical education in middle school.By using the method of questionnaire, document, interview, statistical analysis and logical analysis, the article defines the meaning of modernity of P.E teacher and makes survey research on the status of modernity.The result shows that the modernity of P.E teacher has formed, especially in sense of efficacy, self-examination, degree of information and self-development. Five factors have different effect on some sides of modernity. First, quality of schedule and spirit of dedication are different between female and male teachers. Second, teaching age has great effect on sense of efficacy and self-development. Third, diploma influences the following two aspects, education justice and self-development. Fourth, where the teacher works affects the formation of personal modernity on the follow, education justice and respect for students. Whether using mass media(TV) or not has no apparent effect on the acquisition of modernity of P.E teacher.The article also describes a modem P.E teacher of middle school and probes the early life experience and level of theory that affect the formation of personality modernity. Some suggestion related is also put forward.
