As a unity of history and times, general and specialty, stability and mobility, the modernity of primary teacher refers to a comparatively steady personality system, which in the need of modernism of primary school education, formed with the personal experience of primary teacher and change of personality.The modernity of primary teacher forms in the modernization of primary school education while motivates its modernization. At the same time, education is one of the most important promotive elements for the individual to gain modernity. The course cannot develop well without teacher, while primary teacher characterized by modernity plays fundamentally effective roles in cultivate people's modernity.Recent sample survey reports that at present, the modernity of individual primary teacher in Nanjing has almost formed. Special surveys show that: First, it has not obvious difference between male and female primary teachers. Second, diploma of individual teacher has great effect on the layers of modernity of primary teacher as follows, quality of openness, quality of schedule, educational justice, sense of participation, spirit of cooperating, degree of information and sense of self-examination. Third, birth place (urban of suburb) of primary teacher influences the following eight aspects, sense of efficacy, sense of time, concentration on educational theories, respect for students, independent character, degree of information, sense of self-examination and desire of self-development. Fourth, length of service as a teacher affects the formation of personal modernity of primary teacher on the following, sense of efficacy, sense of time, sense of participation, concentration on educational theories, respect for students, and desire of self-development. Last, whether using mass media (TV) or not has no apparent effect on the acquisition of the modernity of primary teacher.Research shows generalization is the main mechanism in the formation of primary teacher's modernity, while special person and early life experience are the two direct elements.By the following means, the growing of the modernity of primary teacher can be accelerated. Teacher should be given more opportunities to success in order to accelerate generalization, provided teaching according to teacher's own character, to their major and personality. Building up comprehensive teaching culture aims at promoting the understanding and cooperation among teachers. Setting up communicative mechanism between urban and suburb teachers results in accelerate the forming and growing of modern personality of teachers in the suburb.
