With the rapid development of the social economy, the environmental problem and the lack of resources are gradually becoming the main problems that perplexed the sustainable development of human being. The reform of chemical experiment which is an important link in chemistry teaching is bound to come about. In this paper, the author thinks that it is necessary to permeate the theory of Green Chemistry in the middle school's chemistry teaching, to inquire into the way of implementing Greening of Chemical Experiment, and to use the method of action research to explore and practice in chemistry teaching of Lin Tao No. 2 Middle School.First, on the basis of the investigation of offered situation of chemical experiment in Lin Tao No. 2 Middle School, students' interests of learning chemistry, experiment action and things alike, I chose 45 students from senior three grades in November, 2003 and inquired into the situation on how to carry out the demonstrating experiments and student experiments. The investigation shows demonstrating experiments were done at a comparably higher rate and yet it fell far short of the required demands for chemistry teaching. Meanwhile they didn't do nearly all the experiments, which contain complex procedures, indistinct results or relate to poisonous materials. At the same time, about half of the student experiments were done, even fewer for the senior three students, when most of the experiments were taught about instead of being done so as to speed up the teaching progress. After that, I chose 105 students from senior one and two and made further investigation of their interests in chemistry and chemical experiments. And in order to obtain students' even real attitude and action towards chemical experiments, I carried out live observation and interview at an experiment class in early May, 2004. The results of the research show the students in Lin Tao No. 2 Middle School commonly take high interest in chemistry which is mainly related to their indirect interests "caused by the importance of chemistry in NMCT" and direct interests in chemical experiments. In experiment teaching, it is common that the rate of action is low, their action skills are poor and "knowledge, skills and action" are separate or even contradictory.Secondly, in order to improve accuracy and substantial results of greening of chemical experiment-, by using microscale chemical instruments and so on, I began the experimental research with preparation of ammonia in lab and experiments on its properties in senior two chemistry, thinking it over and making a summary about problems needed in the research.Thirdly, ways and methods of performing Greening of Chemical Experiment contain four sections in the research. First, by standardizing experiment operation, the strict idea of "quantity" is formed in experiment. Second, some experiments in middle school textbooks have been redesigned or improved, leading to microscale chemical experiments and small amount experiments which can embody the theory of Green Chemistry in order to show demands for Green Chemistry and lengthen the service life of the products and circulate using them. After studying 29 experiments in middle school textbooks, we set up five circles of experiments to form the chemical experiment system. Practice shows, in chemical experiment teaching, we can not merely treat Atom Economy of chemical reaction as a reaction or a change. It is only realistically meaningful if we should regard it as a section of the complete chain of substance change and recycle, a section of Life Cycle Assessment-the completely new method of environment management. Fourth there are some experiments which are poisonous, easy to explode, dangerous to do or easy to cause serious consequence because of wrong operation. Andsome are difficult to accomplish under the given condition. In the circumstances, we can use Computer Multi-media Assisted Instruction to carry out these experiments.
