In China reading has been paid much of attention to among all the sections of English language teaching in recent years. It is greatly emphasized in the current National Entrance Examination, whose theorem is: stressing context comprehension and practical applications of reading skills.The typical problem in teaching of reading is too much language point learning and sentence analyzing despite cultivating students' reading skills. As a result, students' reading abilities to analyze and solve problems could be developed a little. It needs a major shift in teaching of reading in order to develop students' reading level. The status quo of teaching of reading forces teachers to adopt a critical attitude as an individual second language teachers—to challenge their espoused personal beliefs about teaching.The paper is based on a theoretical foundation of Stern's second/foreign language learning framework. So, first of all, the essay traces various factors, variables and roles that play in second language learning. In the meanwhile, one of the factors relative to learners—learning strategies, can enhance success with learning task. It shows that L2 teaching is demonstrated by many factors of language teaching activities. L2 acquisition determines teaching philosophy. Therefore, in teaching fields, many teaching theories were emerged . Researchers have studied teachers' beliefs, various teaching models and the three elements ESA which have an effect on teaching in class. The thesis has also stated accordingly the question of how to make language teachers deal with teaching ultimately into the question of what the nature of language teaching is.However, reading is a special type of lessons. It has its own structure and characteristics. Teaching of reading is grounded not only in educational experiences mat include theory and research but also in reading psychological process. All these elements need the combined insights and skills of the practical and intellectual strands. In spite of many reading models, not all reading models can be applied into the same kind of reading lessoa Teachers should adopt different teaching methods according to different types of lesson, so as to teach more effectively.The study consists of two groups classified as experimental and control groups. Different teaching philosophy and teaching meftiodologies were consciously applied into two groups. The research was conducted using a questionnaire of teaching factors of English reading and an experiment—test Learning outcome is the major feedback to teaching, because test is a common means of evaluating teaching effectiveness. Through questionnaire investigation toward students, teaching situation was understood. The author used descriptive statistics to analyze the data. The result showed that teaching of English reading affected learning effectiveness.
