Content: Multi-media teaching is a new potential research program, and a new challengeto teaching reform as well. In the teaching field of vocational education, the teachers, based onthe full use as a reference of lessons and experience drawn from the multi-media teaching in elementary education, promote theory research, master the multi-media's characteristics and its advantages so as to apply better multi-media teaching methods in vocational education. It is cer -tain that the research, application, and populari-zation of multi-media technology should bringprofound and lasting influence upon the reformation of vocational education and teaching, andit should demonstrate its powerful superiority and fascination as well.Based on the experience and the existing problems summed up in the practice of multimedia teaching, the article deals with further modern teaching methods that will suit the secondary vocational education characteristics and its requirements, find out the best point that can conn -ect with the traditional teaching patterns, develop the whole function of multimedia education, and enlarge the application area of multimedia teaching. According to the research, multimediatechnology will play a sufficient role under the guidance of the modern education thought and theory. It is of realistic significance to discuss new train of thought in the teaching reformation of vocational education, to develop new thinking methods both in learning and teaching, to en -lighten a pioneering spirit in a lively way, and to seek a creative point in teaching reform.Based on the theory of constructivism, by means of looking up documents, survey-ing by questionnaire and special cases analysis, this article focuses on how vocational schools should carry out classroom teaching, practice teaching and other teaching activities by making full use of multi-media technology and its advantage under their own conditions. By taking the features and requirements in different teaching links in consideration, the advantages of multi-media tea ching are given full play, and its shortcomings and limitations are overcome to achieve the goalof the teaching process optimization and good teaching results.The applications research of multi-media teaching can best give free rein to the functions in use of various teaching process, and make better teaching results by optimizing and making up different teaching media. At the same time, the excellent combination of multi-media technology with different teaching links of secondary vocational education can constantly broadenthe application area of multi-media teaching to enhance its focus and make it more practical.The application of multi-media technology in secondary vocational education is a breakthrough in its reform, and it is also the main direction of domestic secondary vocational teaching research at present. It is of great importance to explore and study the teaching requirementsand patterns that accord with the vocational education.
