Based on investigations on senior students' ability of how to evaluate themselves in maths class, this passage points out some defects of the teachers' teaching methods. By doing further research on teachers' teaching methods, their teaching modes as well as their strategy, the author puts forward his own idea and his advanced teaching method, which is practical. This method puts emphasis on activating all students to participate in solving maths problems in class and on how to improve students' self-evaluating ability, influenced by factors of both teachers and students as the result of the new teaching mode, new way of thinking and strategy. By improving their ability, we may find that they have made great progress in three aspects—analysis, problem-solving and strategy. This research is provided with theory and experiments. In the course of maths class, we should provide students with more chances to form their own habit of self-evaluation and their own way of showing procedures in solving maths problems. We also encourage students to make up maths problems themselves. The passage is illustrated with more examples which mainly show two points—theory and the practice of teaching. Hopfully, it will help those maths teachers who take great responsibilities while working in high grades.
