In the essay, the author ihtroduces the concept , feature and the social functions offolklore, and the author also compares the folklore with customs .Among them, theeducational function of folklore is the most important part. Which is shown in the followingaspects: Increase the student's interests in history. Cultivate the students'consciousness of puttingwhat they learned into practice. Build up the students' self-identity to Chinese culture. Buildup the students' consciousness of connecting history to geography. Make the students acceptmore moral education. At last, the author gives his own opinions on how to realize the educational function inthe history teaching of high middle school.
