With the popularity of higher education and the diversification of vocational choice, the graduate is focused by the society. The career management of the graduate is also concerned by many scholar, however, the competency development of vocational consultant in colleges and universities still be pay no attention enough. In order to study the competency development of vocational consultant in colleges and universities this thesis analyses the social actor and demand of competency in colleges and universities and established the competency construction of vocational consultant in colleges and universities. This thesis also be proved and be used for reference in competency development.The thesis presents the viewpoints about the competency development of vocational consultant in colleges and universities from several aspects in four chapters, which can be described as followings:Chapter 1: Introduction. It is deal the necessary and important in the competency development of vocational consultant in colleges and universities. It is also proved that the study on the competency development of vocational consultant is a contribution on strengthening the construction and consummating the training system of vocational consultant in colleges and universities.Chapter 2: The establishment of the competency development of vocational consultant in colleges and universities. This part using the model of competency construction and the method of job analysis to established the competency from knowledge, skills, ability and attitude.Chapter 3: The analysis on the competency and current status of colleges and universities in shanghai .By questioning and interviewing to look into the competency and current status of consultants in 28 higher education. Firstly discussed the commonly questions about the competency development of vocational consultant in colleges and universities. It is provide the first-hand data and useful advice.Chapter 4: Solutions to the competency development of vocational consultant in colleges and universities. The solutions are comprised of vocational consultant team building, the competency development and self-development.In the thesis, the theories from demotics, economics, education, psychology, adult education and talent research are cited for reference, research methods such as literature review, questionnaire investigating research etc are used to guarantee well-founded viewpoints and the close link between theory and reality, and also to make the research have academic and application significance.
