Creativity And Education: A Perspective Of Individual Life

Since the late 1990s, there has been an upsurge of attaching importance to creativity in educational circle. However, due to people's utilitarian motive in research and organon in thinking, the educational value of creativity has been considered only in the perspective of the outer material achievement, which materialized the creativity fully containing the vividness of individual life. Therefore, this article attempts to comprehend the integral meaning of creativity in the perspective of individual life, and probe the practical ways to actualize the pursuit of educational creativity based on this.The first part of this article analyzes the phenomena of creativity's materialization, indicating the abuses of the view of materializing creativity. Creativity must be reread for the purpose of comprehending it better, and it is analyzed detailedly in the second part in the article. In the thinking way, the materialization of creativity in education and educational research results from the noun thinking in people's mind. Hence, we have to break the fantasy of noun worship and turn to verb thinking. After distinguishing various usages of creativity in its parts of speech, the article indicates the possible danger in the concept usage. Creativity has profound meaning of human studies, and has inherent relationship with human's existence. The concept of creativity in the sole psychological background is inevitably limited. So we should remain in the perspective of education all the time, which is a willingness to concern about the individuals' integral development. The educational perspective involves the ways of questioning such as "why to do", "what to do", and "how to do", and its kernel thinking way is the "verb thinking".The third part of the article focuses on the relationship between life and creativity. The incompleteness of life provides space for people's creativity.
