| On the basis of the English Curriculum Criteria(Experimental Draft), the theories about the assessment in the basic educational stage are as follows: set up an assessment system which can foster the students' interest in learning English and develop their self-learning ability. This system should include two aspects: the summative assessment and non-test assessment. And it is non-test assessment should dominate the assessment process so as to cultivate and ignite the students' learning autonomy and their self-confidence . Furthermore, the assessment should be in favor of developing the students' ability to use the language and thus they can form whole-side characteristics. This assessment theory ensures the place of classroom assessment, by using which the students' learning autonomy, capacity and creativity could be fully developed and also their learning interest, ignition, and self-confidence could be improved greatly.According to the social constructional theory, knowledge is a process, not a result. The classroom non-test assessment emphasizes the teaching process so as to protect the students' learning self -confidence, self-esteem, and their lifelong development.Although some researchers have made research on classroom assessment, many schools and teachers still know little about its real meaning , aim, specialities and how to use the methods.
