Especially the higher education has cultivated a mass of special talerts for the economicconstructure of our country and the progress of siety. But for many objective and subjectivereasons ,there are some problems in evalvating one 's abilityand the training qualification oftalents .And the guiding effect of evaluation can not be overlooked .It can determine thetraining direction of talent ,to some degree.therefore, how to treat the training effect andsignificance of college students'a bility and how to help students build their confidence and togo the proper way of tolent training are of great importance .This article has the followingfive parts : The First part: We're familiar with ability, But it's not easy to explain and understand itwell. Ability is actually potential which is indicated as physical and mental power or skillincluding strength, intelligence and subjective consciousness. The second part: There are various kind of abilities, In content and the range ofapplication, there are common ability and special ability. Thesetwo are connected with eachother orgarically. Common ability can be developed to special ability. Special ability can beregarded as the specialization, concretion.Colleges and Universitres should not only payattention to the cultivation of the students'common ability but also their spcial ability. The third part: To strengthen college students'ability training is an objective demand ofmodern society. With the proposal and application of quality-education, the knowledgeeconomy's coming, talents have becom a kind of sourcesTheir training cualification is direitlyconnected with their individual grawth, with our country's position in the world economicnetwork. So the students'ability training is an important task of colleges and Universities. The fourth part: The sampling sunvey of three Univesities in our province shows thatmost students are positive mentally and have a good understanding of the importance ofability training. But many students think that their own ability can not meet the demand ofsociety. They have no actual steps and scientific measures to train their ability.
