Investigation Of Form Teachers' Work Willingness Of Shenzhen Senior High Schools

Form teachers play a key role in effective management of school. The research on form teachers' work willingness is not only helpful to solve problems in building up a team of form teachers, it is also useful to broaden educational administrators' vision in building up the team and make this kind of building more effective and efficient.I have made a survey and interviewed teachers individually from 4 different high schools in Shenzhen about their willingness of being form teachers. I try to analyse the factors connected with willingness of being form teachers and put forward suggestions to raise the work willingness of form teachers.The research result indicates:1. In general, senior high school form teachers work willingness is not strong.2. Women form teachers' work willingness is not as strong as men form teachers'; the older the form teachers are, the weaker the willingness becomes; the willingness of Chinese, English and math form teachers is better than that of the teaches of the other subjects. The willingness of key school form teachers is stronger than that of other ordinary and vocational schools.3. The factors which affect willingness of being form teachers include work, administrational measures, organising atmosphere and outside pressures. The main factors that reduce willingness are: compared with non-form teachers, form teachers can't take as much as he has given; work pressure and administrational level. The main factors that arouse the willingness of being form teachers are: better feelings between form teachers and students; their work acknowledgement by leaders and colleagues ,and success in the work.I think that educational administrators should improve their administrational views, better administrational system, humanize administrational measures, provide good atmosphere and do more ideological work to raise work willingness of being form teachers.
