Applicetion Of Discovering Teaching Modein Geography Teaching In Middle School

The leading idea of the new course standard is to attach importance to the development of students. The application of "discovering teaching mode" has proved effectively that the positive, active and suitable study method plays an important role in students' studying and their all-around development. And in this teaching mode, students can really become the host of study . Geography new course standard points out clearly that students are owners in geography study. Teachers should encourage them to explore the nature actively, to obtain knowledge in different methods, to comprehend the scientific concept and the scientific methods that scientists adopt to study the nature. Actually this kind of studying course is the course of discovering.This paper falls into four parts. It attempts to make a full study of the application of "discovering teaching mode" in geography teaching in middle schools. In Chapter 1, it gives a brief introduction to "discovering teaching mode" and explores how to apply it concretely. Then it presents its theoretical foundation.The third part gives a detailed analysis to the difference between the new teaching mode and traditional accepting teaching mode by combining the teaching cases and proves that "discovering teaching mode" has positive influence in the new course reform from four aspects. One is the "growth" of knowledge. It means that in accepting teaching mode , the acquisition of students' knowledge is mainly from the teacher while in "discovering teaching mode ", students' knowledge is mostly through their own thinking , that is to say , students' knowledge is constantly growing with the process of teaching.
