The supreme state of education is to have the learners self-educated. To achieve this goal, many developed countries are exploring new study methods. Research Study has received the most attention from education fields among those various methods. Subject Standard for Senior Mathematics by Ministry of Education of PRC points out "Encouraging active and pioneering study methods ."This is a reform not only in the study methods of Senior Mathematics, but also in subject ideal and study ideal. The entry to this ideal is to carry out Research Study.This article summarizes the situation of Research Study at home and abroad,and points out the common problems in the process of Research Study------namelytoo much attention to research ,result and theory while so little attention to study, process and practice. It also talks about some other problems in Research Study, found out through survey. A practical scheme on Senior Mathematics study is put forward based on the philosophical, educational and psychological foundations of Research Study. The scheme includes choosing topics, organizing study, collecting materials, research study, writing reports and assessing. Choosing topics is the first step towards success. This article gives guidance about how to choose topics from the angles of principles of people's cognition development. It specifically discusses the process of sorting materials to help learners to collect materials. About the usually—ignored assessing, it expounds theoretical meaning and means of carrying it out in three points, that is, the principle, the standard, and the means of assessing. It is ended with a worthy example for the teachers and students through a concrete case.This article is to guide practice operation, which is focused on two points: 1. The focus of Research Study is study through research, not research. 2. The assessing of study is to assess the process, not the result, during which teachers pay attention to students' strong points.
