The Study Of The Development Of Modern Fuzhou Women Church Schools

China's women schools started from foreign church schools. Fuzhou ,as one of the five trading ports, is the great area for women church schools in the last years of the Qing Dynasty. Between 1847 and 1860, imperial missionaries opened 11 women old schools in five trading ports, among which Fuzhou had 3, possessing 1/4 of these schools. Fuzhou also had one of three women church universities in China modern times. Therefore, the study of the development of modern Fuzhou women church schools is one of the import parts of the study of the development of the national women church schools. The thesis will start from the reality, basing on the historical materials and the existing achievements, begin with the process of the development of modern Fuzhou women church schools to discuss the historical characteristics of development and function of Fuzhou women church schools, and then present the real features of modern Fuzhou women church schools.
