This thesis is about the studies of the English learning strategies instruction and training for Chinese middle school students. It's hoped that the studies may be of great benefit to the teachers who are now engaging in English teaching and education in middle schools and to the middle school students .This thesis is composed of five parts.Chapter 1 presents a theoretical analysis of language learning strategies by reflecting the definition, classification , factors influencing students' adoption and mastery of language learning strategies and elaborates the significance of carrying out the research into language learning strategies. As will be seen, these have important implications for the English learning strategies instruction and training in Chinese middle schools.Chapter 2 is a detailed survey and analysis about English learning strategies employed by middle school students.Chapter 3 mainly deals with the principles, modes and contents of English learning strategies instruction and training.Chapter 4 describes empirically the framework for middle school English strategies training and the contents of the special lectures for English learning strategies training.The final chapter summarizes both theoretically and empirically some implications of the English strategies instruction and training program in addition to some limitations for middle school English strategies instruction and training .
