The mental quality of preschool teachers refers to the psychological characteristics of teachers' personality and adaptability that are reflected in the daily life of kindergaitners, and it exerts influence on the physical and psychological development of children and matches the requirements of the preschool teacher profession. The mental quality is the foundation for the formation and development of other qualities of preschool teachers, and it plays an important role in children's growth and development.This research is to explore the basic structure and present conditions of mental quality of preschool teachers. Firstly, based on the similar researches conducted in china and other countries and the results of a half open-ended questionnaire, a theoretical model has been constructed for the mental quality of preschool teachers. And then through two surveys with the use of structured questionnaires, and exploratory factor analysis as well as confirmatory factor analysis, the questionnaire structure has been decided and a consolidated questionnaire has been constructed. Finally, the questionnaire has been distributed to 582 preschool teachers to conduct a survey on the present conditions of the mental quality of them after the reliability and validity analysis.The research leads to following findings:(1) The mental quality of preschool teachers is structured by multiple aspects, mainly including characteristics of professional psychology, personality psychology and adaptability psychology. Among them the characteristics of professional psychology include 7 factors coming as sensitivity, creativity, non-authority, expectancy, transference, incentive, teaching efficiency. The characteristics of personality psychology include persistence, self-confidence, achievement motivation, sense of responsibility, objectiveness and justice, self-esteem. And the adaptability psychology include international adaptation, broad-minded, performance control, relaxation and excitation, mental endurance.(2) The questionnaire constructed for the research on mental quality of preschool teachers is an effective measurement tool with high reliability and validity.
