To ascertain epidemiological characteristics of health risk behaviors among undergraduates and explore their effective factors. To prevent and control their risk behaviors' happening and improve their health level. Subjects and methods 1. Sample An anonymous questionnaire survey on health risk behaviors was conducted among 1180 undergraduates from fist to forth grades in suzhou. The number of effective sample was 1100. The effective rate was 93.2%. 2. Methods A questionnaire modified from Youth Risk Behavior Survey of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was conducted including the FES-CV, SCL-90, ASLEC, and social demographic characteristics. 3. Statistical analysis All the data were input into computer with Epidata 2.0 and were analyzed by SPSS 10.0 for windows. Results 1. Analysis of the status of undergraduates' health risk behaviors Among the undergraduates health risk behaviors were common. The prevalence of cigarette smoking and alcohol use for the undergraduates was 37% and 86.5%, 9.6% of them attempted suicide, 4.9% of them experienced sexual intercourse, 6.5% of them experienced internet addiction, 1.2% of them attempted heroin respectively. 2. The Logistic regression analysis of factors The results of the logistic regression analysis showed that some family, social and mental factors were associated with health risk behaviors. 3. The Logistic regression analysis among health risk behaviors Violence associated with suicide, alcohol drinking, cigarette smoking and sexual intercourse. Suicide associated with Violence, internet addiction and sexual intercourse. Internet addiction associated with suicide, alcohol drinking, cigarette smoking and sexual intercourse. Alcohol drinking associated with violence, internet addiction and sexual intercourse. Cigarette smoking associated with internet addiction, violence and sexual intercourse. Sexual intercourse associated with violence, internet addiction, cigarette smoking and heroin. Heroin associated with alcohol drinking and sexual intercourse. Conclusions 1.
