This paper reviews the research of Kohlberg's moral typology, that is, the developmental approach, the substage approach and the ideal-typological approach. The paper sets forth nine theoretical criteria, three general hypotheses, the moral type coding scheme and six empirical studies of the ideal-typological approach in detail. Kohlberg's coding scheme is translated and revised , the interview content is composed of three moral dilemmas on form A and a series of questions are taken forward to assess the high school students' moral types score. Forther more, the moral action experiment is designed as "amending test result" in a Chinese test. This thesis takes the high school students as subjects and uses the revised moral coding scheme and the moral action experiment as measuring instruments in order to explore the development characteristics of the moral type and the relationship between moral type and moral action. Conclusions are as follows:(1) The grade factor does't make significant difference on the moral type of the high school students.(2) The gender factor does't make significant difference on the moral type of the high school students.(3) Moral type has a close positive connection with moral action of the high school students.
