The Research And Study Of Village Inhabitants' Life Quality

Based on a survey of QOL (Quality of Life) at the three villages of Hubei Province, this thesis applied relative theories and methods of sociology to evaluate and describe the QOL of habitants of villages, and analysis the factors that affect their QOL. The thesis consisted of five parts.In the first part, the author expounded the purpose and significance of this research, and offered the summary of documents and the framework of the research, describe those methods used in the research. To improve QOL of villages' habitants is a important part of building up an affluent society and a harmony society. So taking the angle of sociology and consulting the methods and conclusion of former researchers', the author applied relative theories and methods of sociology to studied the QOL of habitants of villages.In the second part, the author evaluate the QOL of village habitants from seven aspects, such as living, social intercourse, traffic, family life, leisure life, labour and career, others. The author point out that the QOL of village habitants' QOL are higher, especially that their psychic QOL are higher than material QOL. The author also describe the status of village habitants' lives and sum up the characteristics of them. The author also point out that the QOL of village habitants is being improved, while the society is still based on consanguinity and geographical relations.In the third part, applying correlate analysis methods, the author find out the main factors which affect QOL of village habitants from seven aspects, such as family life, living status, leisure life, labour and career, traffic status, social intercourse and others. For example, the main factors that affect quality of family life are marriage relation, living status, the structure of clothing and food consuming, etc. The main factors that affect quality of living are type of house and quality of house, etc. All these factors are material, psychic or social factors.In the fourth part, based on the former description and analysis, the author attempt to build up a index system of village habitants' QOL. This index system sonsisted of 7 first grade indicators and 26 second grade indicators. Although this index system is not perfect, it has practicability when evaluating and describing the QOL of habitants of villages, and can be consulted by latter researchers.In the fifth part, having summed up the conclusion of this research, the author make a discussion and then point out that the QOL of village habitants is on the way of being improved, and the improving rate of psychic QOL is higher than that of physical QOL due to magnifing effect. In the end the author give some advices to improve the QOL of village habitants.
