Learning of organic chemistry is the important part of learning of chemistry science, and it is also the important constitute part of learning of the natural science. Therefore, the teaching of organic chemistry is the important channel to cany through the scientific quality education such as scientific knowledge education, scientific method education, scientific thoughts education, scientific attitude education and the view of scientific value education etc.The organic chemistry itself is a very important science. Meanwhile, it is also the theoretical basis of life science, material science, environmental science, medicine science and so on. It is closely related to production of industry and agriculture, and social life. It brings endless benefits for human beings. So it is completely considered that organic chemistry takes the prominent position in the modern chemistry, modern technology, even in modern society.The special knowledge system of organic chemistry, its special educational function, the rapid development itself and the important function to the human beings naturally require every modern citizen to learn and master the necessary basic knowledge of organic chemistry, which will necessarily put up higher and higher requirement to the teaching of organic chemistry in the senior middle school.There are many obstacles and difficulties in the learning of organic chemistry for senior middle students. The present study makes clear the obstacles and difficulties by survey of questionnaire, interview, observation of teaching, and the summary of teaching experiences. The main points of the aspects are as follows:①The concept of organic chemistry ,and the name of organic compound are numerous, unfamiliar, and uneasily to be comprehended, accepted and remembered.②The composition of organic compounds are complicated, and its chemistry formulas are hard to be written.③The structure of organic compounds are diversified and its stereoscopic is strong.④The property of organic compounds are abstract, the regularity is poor, and the chemical equations is complicated and difficult to be writtenFor this purpose, the present study sets up practical and reliable replied strategy by the teaching practice according to the advanced education psychology theories such as theconstructive theory of learning, the modern information -processing theory, the mapping theory and many effective cognitive strategies and so on. The main strategies are as follows:?The organic chemistry knowledge's comprehension and control strategies.?The fine processing strategies of organic chemistry knowledge—the skills of memory.?The organizing strategies of knowledge on organic chemistry—the construction of fine cognitive structure.? The strategies on trying of the innovation of methods of teaching and learning on organic chemistry, improve teaching and learning quantity.Putting these strategies into practice availably helps the student to overcome obstacles and difficulties on the organic chemistry learning, and foster and strengthen students' abilities of thinking and learning, make students prepare proper basic knowledge, basic skills and methods on the organic chemistry learning in their life.In the present study, class one, senior two of 2003 is selected as the experimental class and class two, senior two of 2003 as the compared class. The experiment is carrying on from March to May, 2005 .Duration is nearly a semester. Adopting the action research which put teaching into practice and improve in the practice gets the first success. The teaching experiment has firstly proved that this is a pertinence to the obstacles, and a real effection to the strategies , which are putted forward in the present study. Of course, the research must be going further with the deep-going reforming of teaching, and with an all-round carrying out of the new turn of curriculum innovation of the elementary education.
