The paper presents a study on the practice of Task-Based Language Teaching in "ordinary junior middle schools" in Wuhu City, China, in the light of the characteristics of TBLT under the requirements of Curriculum Reform in middle school English teaching put forward by the National Ministry of Education of China.The paper first suggests the necessity of adopting TBLT in ordinary junior middle schools in Wuhu City in the situation of the National Curriculum Reform. The paper then makes a brief exposition of the theory of TBLT, stressing its function in middle school English teaching. Later the paper makes a research into the practice of TBLT in ordinary junior middle schools in Wuhu and finds out while TBLT has brought certain benefits to classroom English teaching in ordinary middle schools in Wuhu, there are still a series of problems. Finally, the author analyzes the fundamental causes of these problems and puts forward some practical strategies that may be employed to solve these problems.
