[Objective] Whey protein had been used widespread in sports athlete. Intake of whey can improve the serum GSSG level. Also immunoglobulins demonstrates a range of immune-enhancing properties of the athletes. The anabolic effect was observed when take whey protein. The type of the people, exercise, dosage, time had the influence of the research. Athletes in Canoe always train hard and longer than 4 hours per day. Lack of Oxygen and hard training was imposed on the canoe athletes when do altitude training. So the intake of whey protein is important. In this paper we wants explore the influence of whey protein intake when do altitude training.[Methods] We devided the group into two parts. WS(whey protein intake set)was given 40 g/ per day at night. PS(placebo set) was given carbonhydrate which contained equal caloric. At the same time, athlete was do the altitude training in Kunming(elevation of 2050 meters) for 5 weeks. Then we back to sea level for training two weeks. And nutrition intake is the same as Altitude training. We do the test before altitude training and 2 weeks after back to sea level. These tests also had been progressed in Kunming.[Results] Conclusions: Results show that endocrine index is very sensitive to the whey protein intake. Testosterone level in the end session of altitude training is 918ng/dl in WS and 832ng/dl in PS. The changes always kept on till the end of experiment. Serum album level almost is same in the two sets. Serum urine level in WS is 10% higher than PS. Although body weight of WS increased 0.7 kg and PS increase 0.5 kg. But we find the upper arm surround distance (contract) in WS is increase significant more (+0.9cm) but increased a little in PS (-0.1cm). Hemoglobin increased from 152±9g/Lto 160±13g/L in average, no difference between two sets.;Vo2max were improved in both two sets. But PS improved more when compared with WS. Bench press impoved poorly in PS but significantly in WS.[Conclusions] Whey protein intake is very important in the altitude training. We can observe the progressing of the muscle size of the arm, the higher testosterone level in the whey protein intake set. That seems we should take the supplement of whey protein daily when we do the altitude training.
