The Application Of Formative Evaluation In Senior Mathematics Teaching

In recent years, curriculum reform has become a fashion topic and evaluation is becoming more and more important. Formative evaluation, which is called process evaluation, was advanced by G. F. Scriven in his book The Methodology of Valuation in 1976.After G. F. Scriven, Bloom was the first to introduce formative evaluation into classroom teaching. With curriculum reform development in our country, a high premium has been placed on formative evaluation. Due to the phenomenon that students polarization is serious in common senior high schools, formative evaluation has been introduced in process of senior Mathematics teaching and learning. Especially, when singleness evaluation criterion evaluate all the students in some high - school where the students are widely varying in mathematics, it is afraid that Hardly any of the students did wello So, when judging a student's work we use different evaluation criteria instead of Summative evaluation which values result more than process. We carry out formative evaluation , use different evaluation criteria for different students.This paper presents relative significance of formative evaluation and introduce the usage and effect of some formative evaluation tools. This thesis firstly the concept of Formative Evaluation .It also looks back to the origin of the educational assessment and the present research on it at home and abroad., the present situation of middle school mathematics teaching, introduces the principles of carrying out formative evaluation and function. It proposes some common methods and means of formative evaluation. According to practical research, the thesis presents the way and the present situation of carrying out formative evaluation in senior mathematics learning. Moreover, the writer makes further discussion on some problems to be solved and others some personal opinions and suggestions.
