Nowadays, both innovation spirit and practice ability are becoming the most important characteristic of our age. It is highly necessary for teaching staff to pay more attention to the living state of human, improve the standards of living and cultivate the principal trait of students. As for cultivating the innovation spirit and practice ability of students, classroom teaching seems to be a "double-edged sword". Based on analysis of current overall situation of classroom teaching and modern advanced teaching thought, this thesis demonstrates thoroughly how to take the full advantage of the "double-edged sword" positively and efficiently in cultivating the innovation spirit, practice ability and principal trait of students. On the whole, the thesis consists of three parts.In the first part, connotation of the principal trait teaching is analyzed. Based on the current overall situation of classroom teaching and national reform trend in basic education, the significance of practice of the principal trait teaching is demonstrated.In the second part, three novel modes of study, including independent mode, cooperative mode and explorational mode are analyzed and studied. According to own practice of teaching, the issue of how to practise the principal trait teaching theory in current chemistry classroom teaching in junior high school is discussed concretely.In the third part, problems arising from the practice of the principal trait teaching theory in current chemistry teaching in junior high school are discussed. Furthermore, according solution strategies are presented and discussed.
