The optional course in aerobics as specific sport (OCAASS) is one of the compulsory courses for college students majoring in PE. The quality of course practice will have a direct effect on the developing goals of brains in college PE major. Right now Chinese high education system is gradually advancing perfectly, in the course of which the contradiction between traditional teaching contents and social demands rises up, meanwhile the requirements and standards for aerobic talents from the human resource market changes accordingly.The writer, making a thorough study about National College PE Course Project (2003) and National College PE Main Course Guidance Program (2004) issued by Chinese Ministry of Education, consulting lots of writings and researching results relating to teaching methodology, training science, statistics and also cultivating targets for colleges, teaching reforms, curricula setups with aerobics, investigating the OCAASS in Hubei, conducted a contrast analysis including course setting goals and norms, periods and credit hours, textbooks, and teaching content selections, professional teachers, teaching conditions, social practice, and employments for the students majoring in aerobics.With the methods of literature reviews, questionnaires, statistics, comparative analysis and logical organums etc, the specialized aerobic course for PE students from nine universities or institutes in Hubei were examined, a further analysis of current situations about OCAASS was presented with a display of problems in that field as well as the rational advice and suggestions.
