The aim of physics education is to study how to teach physics and how to improve the efficiency of teaching from both aspects of theory and practice. The previous investigation indicated that the status quo of high school physics education was not as what we wished. One side, the students were complaining that it was hard to study physics. On the other hand, the teachers were reflecting that"Teaching physics is becoming more difficult". Therefore, theoretical researchers and physics teachers explore from many aspects in order to find ways to improve physics education of high school. Beginning with one of the factors of non-intelligence----students'physics study interest, we try to do some basic work of it----surveying the students'interest of physics study.This research is based on educational psychology and physics-study theory. By summarizing the previous results of the others', and combining the theory with students'practice in studying physics, this research is wanted to grope for strategies about interest of physics studying. This study adopts the method of questionnaire. The study was carried out in two high schools of Chongqing City. In The No. 8 High School, the campus one, four classes were investigated from Junior 2 to Senior 2. In The No.42 High School, which is the common school, from Junior 2 to Senior 3 ten classes were investigated, two classes each grade. The questionnaire was designed by Hu Xiang ling, the professor of Physics Department of Shan Dong Qufu Normal University. After analyzing the data using Microsoft Excel 2003 and SPSS 12.0, we could educe the results: (1) The level of interest on physics studying was low; (2) The interest difference between schoolboys and schoolgirls was obviously; (3) The interest of physics study was comparatively steadily.This research discusses why physics studying interest is low by analyzing the feedback of the testee'. The reason includes that, such as: the difficulty of physics itself; the mentality obstacle of the students'; the scarcities of better teaching material and experiment equipments; the influence of the physics teachers and so on. The research also attempts to offer some strategies on improving students'physics studying interest.
